Trinity Mirror Digital Recruitment Limited, Company No. 01904765 ("TotallyLegal") endeavours to ensure that the information that you submit to us remains private, and that it is used only for the purposes described below. We aim to provide a safe and secure experience for all of our users. You can remove any information that we hold about you at anytime by logging in to your account.

What this Privacy Policy covers

This Privacy Policy together with our Recruiter Terms and Conditions covers treatment of personally identifiable information that we collect when you are on the TotallyLegal website, register with TotallyLegal, upload a job, search for a candidate, upload a CV, set up a job alert or apply for a job via the TotallyLegal site. This policy does not apply to companies that TotallyLegal does not own or control, or to people that TotallyLegal does not employ.

This policy does not apply to any other company or any other company's websites including but not limited to those of Recruiters, Advertisers, Aggregators, Multi-posters or partners of ours, or third party sites through which you can log-in to this Site. If you disclose your personal information to other companies your information will be dealt with according to their privacy practices and they will be the data controller.

Personal information collection, use and disclosure

We collect personal information (e.g. first name, last name, email address) when you register with the site, search and apply for a job, set up a job alert, visit our web pages, and when you participate in any of our marketing activities (e.g. surveys, competitions or events).

Once you register with us and accept our Terms & Conditions (read our Terms & Conditions here), we may contact you regarding site upgrades, jobs relevant to you, and products that can assist you with your job search.

TotallyLegal automatically receives and records information on our web server logs from your browser including your Internet Protocol (IP) address. Every computer on the internet has an IP address which is a unique number by which it can be identified. TotallyLegal records IP addresses for anonymous statistical purposes, administration of our website and servers, and to improve our services.

TotallyLegal may set and access cookies on your computer. A cookie is a small data file, often including an anonymous unique identifier, which is sent to your browser from a website and stored on your computer's hard drive to help the site remember information about your visit. The information we gather may be used by Trinity Mirror Digital Recruitment Ltd and companies in the same group as Trinity Mirror Digital Recruitment Ltd (i.e. companies which share the same parent company) internally, for purposes relating to your use of the sites for marketing activities, and may be passed to carefully selected third parties to use for marketing activities. By marketing activities, we mean the communication directly to particular individuals (by e-mail, post or telephone) of any advertising or marketing material. TotallyLegal is not responsible for the information that the client receives.

We do not disclose information about your individual visits to the TotallyLegal site, or personal information that you provide, such as your name and contact details unless you have given us your permission to do so or we believe that the law requires it. General information

TotallyLegal gathers general information about users, for example, what services users access the most and which areas of the TotallyLegal site are most frequently visited. Such data is used in aggregate to help us understand how the TotallyLegal site is used. We gather this information so that we can continue to improve and develop our services. We may make this aggregated information available to users of the TotallyLegal site, to our clients and also to external auditors (e.g. ABC). These statistics are anonymous and contain no personal information and cannot be used to gather personal information.

Where we have provided you (or where you have created) a password to access certain parts of our site you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. TotallyLegal may send personally identifiable information about you to other clients or a third party when:
